GALVAZ : THE ANTI-CORROSION TREATMENT FOR STEEL TIPPERS

For our most common tipper lengths we use ZMA galvanised steel sheet: it is a standard hot galvanisation into which magnesium has been incorporated. It is this magnesium which makes it a much more effective galvanisation than a standard hot galvanisation. If there is an impact the steel sheet remains treated. It is the coating that is best adapted to aggressive environments: beside the sea or roads which have been salted. After controlled shot blasting (not destroying the GalvaZ), we apply

- a coat of primer - a thermosetting powder epoxy resin. It is a long life corrosion protection.

- a coat of paint: thermosetting powder polyester resin resistant to impacts and scratches.

That is a total minimum layer of 120 µm.

The taper of the JPM pillar provides an efficient hold. The clamping screw makes it possible to take up any clearance which could appear over time. The pillar doesn't move and contributes to the long life of the tipper.

BODYWORK

• Tipper platform in steel sheet HX500, thickness 4 mm
• Rectangular tube side members, height 160 mm and longitudinal spacers
• Sideboards in galvanised steel S350, height 400 mm, thickness 2 mm, fold-down, removable, interchangeable right/left
• Assisted lifting for the sideboard from length of 4260 mm
• Closing of embedded sideboards
• Steel S355 front face, height 450 mm, thickness 2 mm
• Cab Protect in galvanised steel, with grille (4.5 mm section), removable and without top cap
• Rear door in steel S355, height 450 mm, thickness 2 mm, automatic opening (doorway 520 mm)
• Rubber opening stops on sideboards and rear door
• Rear pillars in galvanised steel, thickness 3 mm, removable, with adjustable fixing bolt and conical fittings
• Polypropylene fender flares with support in unwrought aluminium
• Approved double bar aluminium side protection, black powder paint
• Nickel Zinc treated bolts (5 times more resistant than standard galvanising)
• Tipping shaft without lubrication (self-lubricating ring)
• Short dumping overhang: 250 mm
